After hearing "Crazy Train," John decided to learn to play guitar. After 30 years of playing, he has picked up many varied styles such as blues, rock, country and many more. He plays bass, guitar, lead guitar, and slide guitar. He sings lead vocals and harmony. He has opened for David Allen Coe, Doug Stone, Blackfoot, Joe Stampley, and has shared the stage with Johnny Lee and many others.
